Manual interior lights control in general
The manual interior lights control makes it possible to switch the interior illumination (IBL), the reading illumination and the mirror lamps on and off.
The overhead control panel control unit (DBE) is supplied with voltage by the SAM control unit.
The manual interior lights control function encompasses the following subfunctions:
Function sequence for interior illumination IBL
Function sequence for reading illumination
Function sequence for mirror lamps
Function sequence for glove compartment illumination
Function sequence for interior illumination IBL
The overhead control panel control unit (DBE) directly reads in the status of the lamp switches. This then actuates the relevant components directly.
The following interior illumination (IBL) components are dimmed when being switched on and off by operating the interior lamp button (N70s2):
left front reading lamp (N70e2)
Right front reading lamp (N70e3)
The following interior illumination (IBL) components are manually dimmed when being switched on and off by operating the rear compartment lamp button:
Rear dome lamp (E15/3) (with code LD9 (Rear interior lamps))
Function sequence for reading illumination
Only with code LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel)
The reading illumination serves to illuminate a defined area in front of the user, without having a distracting dazzling effect on the driver.
The overhead control panel control unit (DBE) directly reads in the status of the reading lamp buttons.
The following reading lamp components can be switched on or off individually by pressing the reading lamp buttons:
Left front reading lamp (N70e2) via left front reading lamp button (N70s6)
Right front reading lamp (N70e3) via right front reading lamp button (N70s7)
Function sequence for mirror lamps
The sun visor dome lamps are supplied with voltage by the overhead control panel control unit (DBE).
The following mirror lamp components can be manually switched on or off by opening or closing the corresponding mirror cover in the sun visors:
Left front vanity mirror illumination (E14/6)
Right front vanity mirror illumination (E14/7)
The power supply is switched off by folding the sun visor of the mirror cover closed or by locking the vehicle.
Additional function requirements for glove compartment illumination
"Circuit_15R_ON"
Function sequence for glove compartment illumination
The glove compartment illumination is supplied with voltage by the fuse and relay module control unit (SRM). Voltage is switched through to the glove compartment lamp (E13/1) by opening the glove compartment door.
