Tilting/sliding roof normalization, function

 Normalization must be performed whenever denormalization has taken place.

Performing normalization

Close tilting/sliding roof (SR [SHD]) (M12) with SR [SHD] switch (N70s1) until mechanical stop (closing position) is reached and continue to actuate with SR [SHD] switch (N70s1). The overhead control panel control unit (N70) continues to actuate the motor (SR [SHD]) (M12m1) and sets the location counter to "0", if it recognizes a blockage of the motor (SR [SHD]) (M12m1) for min. t = 0.5 s. However, normalization is only performed if no Hall sensor pulses are recognized by the overhead control panel control unit (N70) during this time.

Moreover, the front Hall sensor (SR [SHD]) (M12b1) and front Hall sensor (SR [SHD]) (M12b2) must recognize at least 3 edges before reaching the mechanical stop (closed position).

 It is no longer possible to normalize via the "Convenience closing" functions if they are activated by the AC control unit (S98) as well as "Automatic closing" If lockup. These functions are not possible in the denormalized state.

If normalization is accomplished successfully, the overhead control panel control unit (N70) can switch off the SR [SHD] motor (M12m1) for the functions "Convenience opening", Convenience closing" and "Automatic opening and closing" of the tilting/sliding roof (SR [SHD]) (M12), before the mechanical stops are reached.

Renormalization

Function requirements:

 Tilting/sliding roof (SR [SHD]) (M12) is normalized

 No overvoltage or undervoltage

 Overvoltage is present when voltage > 16.5 V. Undervoltage is present when voltage < 9 V.

Renormalization is performed automatically, if the rear tilting/sliding roof (SR [SHD]) (M12) is moved to the mechanical stop (closing position) for t = 0.5 s.

Renormalization compensates mechanical tolerances and malfunctions. Renormalization is accomplished only each 10th time the mechanical stop (closed position) is reached to reduce wear to the tilting/sliding roof (SR [SHD]) (M12) mechanism.

To prevent variations in the brightness of the lamps renormalization is not performed if the following lamps are switched on:

 Front dome lamp (N70e1), with code (LD0) overhead control panel control unit with reading lamp for driver and passenger

 Left front reading lamp (N70e2), with code (LD0) Overhead control panel control unit with reading lamp for driver and passenger

 Right front reading lamp (N70e3), with code (LD0) Overhead control panel control unit with reading lamp for driver and passenger

 Renormalization is not performed on the "Comfort closing" function.
