The crossing traffic warning system warns the driver and brakes the vehicle in hazardous situations with crossing traffic when reversing out of a parking space.

The maneuvering assistant is operated using the multimedia system.

Function requirements

Terminal 15 ON

Blind Spot Monitoring switched on

Parking Assist switched on

Vehicle moves backward at walking pace

No trailer operation (vehicles with trailer hitch)

No incline

Function

When exiting a parking space, the radar sensors in the bumper monitor the traffic area adjacent to the vehicle. In imminent collision situations, a symbol appears in the multimedia display. A warning tone can also be issued. If the warning is not followed by a reaction from the driver, the vehicle is braked automatically.

The cross traffic warning system is active at a speed of 0 to 10 km/h.

Functional restrictions

The crossing traffic warning system may also be impaired:

If the radar sensors are badly soiled

Through insufficient (poor) detection for angle parking

When covered up by other vehicles
