Location

The outlet check valve (4) is bolted in the lower area of the retarder housing.

Task

The outlet check valve (4) opens or seals the oil duct between the working chamber and retarder heat exchanger.

Design

The outlet check valve (4) consists of the guide (1), spring (2) and piston (3).

Function

The oil pressure in the oil duct, which is in combination with the retarder operating chamber, presses back the piston (3) of the outlet check valve (4) against the force of the spring (2). The retarder oil now flows via the open outlet check valve (4) from the retarder working chamber to the heat exchanger.
