Operation
The compressed air coming from the pressure generator set (DE) is stored by the reservoirs (5.01) which, apart from the storage function, is also responsible for condensing the water present in the air.
Water draining takes place periodically whenever the manual draining valve (6.01), embedded into the reservoir (5.01), is actuated. Its actuation is important because it eliminates condensed water from the compressed air reservoir (5.01), preventing damages to brake system components, such as corrosion, for instance.
After storage, the compressed air is consumed from the air reservoir (5.01) by several pneumatic circuits from the brake system.
