Function
The adjustment of the brakes is performed automatically, which means that in case of pad and brake disc wear, the pistons will need to travel a longer distance until the pads make contact. Because of this longer travel distance, the deformation of the gasket is shorter than the piston stroke that slides on it, in addition to its deformation.
When releasing the brake, the piston will retract only to the extent originated by the deformation of the gasket, so that it produces a continuously variable adjustment in function of the brake pads and the brake disc wear amount.
