A1e43 EPC (Electronic Power Control) malfunction indicator lamp
(shown on model 140)

The EPC malfunction indicator lamp is discontinued as of 06/96

Position

In instrument cluster

Task

Indicating fault in electronic accelerator pedal (electronic accelerator emergency running)

Design/function

The malfunction indicator lamp is supplied with voltage by circuit 15. The ME-SFI control module actuates the lamp by connecting it to GND.

The malfunction indicator lamp (A1e43) should come on when the ignition is switched on and go out when the engine is running. If it does not go out, there is a fault at the electronic accelerator pedal. The system is in the emergency running mode (read HHT fault memory).
