The transfer case has its own oil system for lubrication and heat dissipation.
Gear wheels (10) and (11) function as an oil pump and supply the bearing and planetary gearset (3) with lubrication oil via oil cooling lines and an oil splasher pipe.
Metal grinding dust and swarf are collected by a magnet integrated in the transmission housing.
The transfer case has lifetime lubrication.
The oil used is transmission oil (the same oil as for automatic transmission 722.6).
