Task
Determines if the selector lever is engaged in position P or N and passes this information on to engine control module PMS (N3/6) or LH (N3/1).
Recognizes driving position "2/3".
Switches on the backup lamp when selector lever position "R" is engaged.
Only allows starter (terminal 50) to be actuated at selector lever position "P" or "N".

Function
In selector lever position "P" and "N", connection 8 and 9 (terminal 50 and 50R) are connected. When a driving position is engaged, the connection between 8 and 9 is interrupted. This is detected by the engine control module which then ensures a lower idle speed (reducing the tendency of the vehicle to creep forward). It is also possible to actuate the starter in this selector lever position.

In selector lever position "2" and "3", connections 6 and 7 are connection. This is detected by the engine control module. The control module switches off the shift point retard which is activated for a short time after the engine is started.
When selector lever position "R" is engaged, the backup lamps are connected to the power supply.
