The hydraulic gear shift cylinder (6)is a double-acting combination slave cylinder consisting of a hydraulic component (A) and a pneumatic component (B). The hydraulic component (A) is connected to the corresponding cylinders on the shift control unit by means of hydraulic lines. The pneumatic component (B) is actuated via two passages in the housing of a solenoid valve unit, consisting of shift force assistance solenoid valve 1 (Y68) and shift force assistance solenoid valve 2 (Y69).

The hydraulic gear shift cylinder (6)is equipped with a vent nipple (1) and a bleed screw (2). These serve to bleed and admit air into the hydraulic system.
The two O-rings (6.7) prevent fluid from escaping when bleeding and filling the hydraulic circuits.
The axial bore (6.6) connects the vent nipple (1) with the bleed screw (2) to allow both hydraulic circuits to be bled via one vent nipple.
