Flame glow plug, location

Flame glow plug (R3) is attached directly to the engine charge air housing, together with the flame starting system solenoid valve (Y5), by means of flange (2).

Flame glow plug, task

During the preglow phase, flame glow plug (R3) is heated up to a temperature of 1050 °C 50 °C. The hot flame glow plug (R3) ignites the atomized diesel fuel injected through the fuel nozzle.
