Start engine button - task
The applied positions of the start engine button (S10) are read in and evaluated by the engine control (MR) control unit (A6).
Actuation of the Start engine button (S10) has a different effect depending on whether the engine is switched off or running:
Effects on actuating the start engine button (S10) when the engine is switched off: The engine can be started by actuating the start engine button (S10) if the cab is tilted. If, in addition to the Start engine button (S10), the Stop engine button (S11) is also actuated, the engine can be cranked for service operations without it being started because, in this case, actuation of solenoid valves in the unit pumps is interrupted.
A safety function in the software for the engine control (MR) control unit (A6) and the drive control (FR) control unit (A3) does not allow the engine to start when the gear is engaged (starter protection function), and / or prevents the starter from getting actuated when the engine is already running (start lock).
Effects on actuating the Start engine button (S10) when the engine is running: If the Start engine button (S10) is actuated when the engine is running, the engine control (MR) control unit (A6) increases the idle speed continuously till the engine reaches the limit speed, or the Start engine button (S10) is released again. Immediately after the Start engine button (S10) is released, engine control (MR) regulates the idle speed again.
As the engine control (MR) control unit (A6) detects that the engine is running, it prevents the starter from getting actuated again (start lock).
