Task

To protect automatic transmission power links from overheating caused by shifting under load during cruise control operation.

Function

When the cruise control function is on, fuel injection quantity is governed directly by the IFI [ERE] control module (N3/7) or the DFI [EVE] control module (N3/8).

The modulator pressure switchover valve (AT/CC [AG/TPM]) (Y3/4) and the upshift delay switchover valve (AT/CC [AG/TPM]) (Y3/5) are installed to protect the transmission and for downshifting under load. During cruise control operation, the switchover valves are actuated by the IFI [ERE] control module (N3/7) or the DFI [EVE] control module (N3/8). This is necessary because the accelerator pedal position sensor (R25/2) and the vacuum control valve (65) are in the closed throttle position when the cruise control is operating.
