Task | Regulating and limiting pump internal pressure in line with the fuel quantity delivered. | ||
Function | The pressure control valve (13/7) is connected over a drilling to the fuel outlet slot of the fuel pump. It is a spring-tensioned slide valve. If the fuel pressure rises to approx. 8 bar, the valve plunger opens the return flow drilling so that the fuel is able to flow back along a passage to the inlet slot of the fuel pump. If the fuel pressure is too low, the return flow drillling remains closed as a result of the spring force. The variable pretension of the compression spring determines the opening pressure. The setting is performed on the pump test bench. |
