B65 Double temperature sensor of combination engine control module
Coolant temperature sensor position
Coolant temperature sensor task | The signal from the double temperature sensor of the combination engine control module (B65) is required as a correction factor for defining ignition angle and injection time as well as idle speed stabilization.
Coolant temperature sensor design | The sensor for the double temperature sensor of the engine control module (B65) is an NTC resistor. It reduces its resistance as the temperature rises.
Coolant temperature sensor function | The rise in temperature causes a reduction in the resistance as a result of which the amperage is increased. This analog value is advised to the engine control module. If no signal is received or if the signal is faulty, the engine control module adopts a stored fixed value of 80 °C. This can result in irregular engine running in the warming-up phase. |
