Remove/install

Move seat backrest of front seat (1) to upright position.

Fully retract head restraint of front seat (1).

Move steering wheel all the way upwards.

When removing the front seat (1) on the driver's side.

Move front seat (1) to center position.

Remove trim (2).

Unscrew bolts (3).

Remove fire extinguisher with holder.

Move front seat (1) all the way to the front.

Remove trims (4).

Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery.

Remove electrical connectors (6, 7, 8).

Loosen retaining clip (10) and expose electrical wiring harness (9) on front seat (1).

Carefully remove front seat (1) from the vehicle with a helper.


Handle front seat (1) carefully.
Otherwise the adjacent components can be damaged.

 Installation: Make sure that the rubber disk is pulled onto the guide pin (11) and that the guide pin (11) is inserted into the guide hole (arrow) in the underbody.

Install in the reverse order

Calibrate

Calibrate seat occupancy recognition.

After removal of front seat (1) on front passenger side.



 Before deleting the airbag fault memory, calibrate the Weight Sensing System (WSS) control unit.
Follow the "Zero point setting" instructions under the menu item "Adaptations – Teach-in processes".



Check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) using vehicle diagnosis system.
