Remove/install

Move front seat to foremost position and uppermost position

2.1

Remove stowage compartment from front passenger seat

Only for removal of front passenger seat with stowage tray.

Remove fire extinguisher and fire extinguisher tray

Only for removal of driver's seat with fire extinguisher.

Disconnect ground line from battery

Expose electrical wiring harness (2) on seat adjustment mechanism and disconnect driver's seat connector block (X55/3) or front passenger seat connector block (X55/4)

 The number of electrical connectors depends on the equipment installed.

Disconnect pneumatic line (7) from bottom of seat adjustment mechanism

Remove control valve (8)

Unclip pneumatic lines (10) from holder (9)

 Installation: Check pneumatic lines (10) are correctly routed and attached.

Expose pneumatic lines (10) at bottom of seat cushion (1)

Unclip driver's seat connector block (X55/3) or front passenger seat connector block (X55/4) and turn far enough to one side until the seat heater electrical connector (6) can be disconnected

Disconnect seat heater electrical connector (6) from driver's seat connector block (X55/3) or front passenger seat connector block (X55/4)

Unclip housing halves of coupling for seat heater electrical connector (6)

Disconnect seat occupancy recognition electrical connector (15) from front passenger seat connector block (X55/4)

 Only for removal of seat cushion (1) on front passenger seat.

Disconnect seat ventilation motor electrical connector from front seat

Lift rear seat cushion (1) and unclip left rear footwell lamp (E17/23) or right rear footwell lamp (E17/24) from seat cushion (1) (arrows A)

Unclip electrical wiring harness (11) on seat cushion (1) from holder (arrow B)

Unclip electrical wiring harness (12) from bottom of seat cushion (1) (arrow C)

Expose electrics line belonging to the seat cushion (1) on the seat adjustment mechanism

 Number of electrical lines differs according to configuration.

 Installation: Pay attention to correct routing and attachment of electrical lines.

Remove screws (3)

Unclip bracket (4) and remove

Fold up bearing shells (5)

Remove seat cushion (1)

Install in the reverse order
