Removing

Open trunk lid (1) with emergency key during adjusting work

Remove trunk lid paneling (2) form trunk lid (1)

Unclip striker eye cover (3)

Adjust in longitudinal direction

Loosen bolts (5) at striker eye (4)

Loosen bolts (6) from left hinge lever (7) and right hinge lever (8)

Adjust trunk lid (1) in longitudinal direction

 Adjust trunk lid (1) so that rear edge of trunk lid (1) is flush with rear fenders and rear center section. Observe gaps (arrows)

Gap dimensions on hoods, doors and lids

Tighten bolts (6) on left hinge lever (7) and right hinge lever (8)



Adjust height

Screw in stops (10)

Adjust locking eye (4) so that height of trunk lid (1) matches height of fender

 Align striker eye (4) in center in relation to trunk lid lock (9)

Tighten screws (5)



Mark contact surface of stops (10) with chalk and adjust stops (10)

 Remove stops (10) until the chalk leaves marks on the contact surfaces on the rear center section and both rear fenders when the trunk lid (1) is closed.

Do not slam the trunk lid (1), instead, push slowly into lock by hand.

Check closing system for proper function



Install

Install striker eye cover (3)

Install trunk lid paneling (2) on trunk lid (1)
