Remove front bumper (1).

AR88.20-S-2000E


Set down front bumper (1) on a suitable base.
Damage may occur otherwise.

Remove license plate number.

Remove license plate holder.

Remove front 360° camera.

Remove PARKTRONIC sensors in front bumper (1).

Turn DISTRONIC control unit holder (10) counterclockwise (arrow A) and remove from radiator grille (3).

Disconnect electrical connector (11) from the DISTRONIC control unit (12).

Remove electrical wiring harness (13) from DISTRONIC control unit holder (10) and remove DISTRONIC control unit holder (10).

Remove expansion rivets (18).

 Assembly: Check expansion rivets (18) for damage.

 Clip remover

If damage is present:



Replace damaged expansion rivets (18).

Release catch hooks (arrows B) and remove cover (2).

 Assembly: Helper required.
Ensure that the catch hooks (arrows B) are seated correctly.

Release catch hooks (arrows C) and remove right holder (15).

 Assembly: Observe that the catch hooks (arrows C) are seated correctly.

Remove screw (16) from the right reinforcement (5).

Remove expansion rivets (17) from the right reinforcement (5).

 Assembly: Check expansion rivets (17) for damage.

 Clip remover

If damage is present:



Replace damaged expansion rivets (17).

Release catch hooks (arrows D) and remove right reinforcement (5).

 Assembly: Ensure that the catch hooks (arrows D) are seated correctly.

Release catch hooks (arrows C) and remove left holder (14).

 Assembly: Observe that the catch hooks (arrows C) are seated correctly.

Remove screw (16) from left reinforcement (4).

Remove expansion rivets (17) from the left reinforcement (4).

 Assembly: Check expansion rivets (17) for damage.

 Clip remover

If damage is present:



Replace damaged expansion rivets (17).

Release catch hooks (arrows D) and remove left reinforcement (4).

 Assembly: Ensure that the catch hooks (arrows D) are seated correctly.

Release catch hooks (arrows E) and remove radiator grille (3).

 Assembly: Ensure that the catch hooks (arrows E) are seated correctly.

Release catch hooks (arrows F) and remove center trim (6).

 Assembly: Ensure that the catch hooks (arrows F) are seated correctly.

Release catch hooks (arrows G) and remove right trim (8).

 Assembly: Check that the catch hooks (arrows G) are seated correctly.

Release catch hooks (arrows G) and remove left trim (7).

 Assembly: Check that the catch hooks (arrows G) are seated correctly.

Remove towing eye cover (9).

25

Assemble in the reverse order.
