Remove bolts(7)

Remove the expansion rivets (1) on the left and right

Unscrew the screws (2, 14) on the left and right

 Press the wheel arch liner back slightly.

Disconnect Parktronic electrical connector from front bumper (X26/27)

Vehicles with code EZ8 (PARKTRONIC)

 With model 636, model 639 without code XZ1 (model generation 1): Unscrew the screws (3) and release the retainer.
With model 639 with code XZ1 (model generation 1): Remove the plug housing on the front module by rotating it 45°.

Disconnect the hose connection (4) from the windshield washer system reservoir

Vehicles with code F46 (headlamp cleaning system)

 Press the quick-release fastener, remove the hose connection (4) and seal the windshield washer system reservoir with stop plugs.

 Installation: Replace sealing ring.

 Record plug

Remove bolt/bolts (5)

Remove the bumper (6)

 Remove the bumper (6) toward the front. Use aid of helper.

 Installation: Align the bumper (6).

Perform additional work when the bumper (6) is replaced with an additional alternator or refrigerant compressor

Only with model 639 with code N62 (engine power take-off at the front with carrier bar for additional alternator), with code N63 (engine power take-off at the front with carrier bar for additional refrigerant compressor), and only when the bumper (6) is replaced.

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check the PARKTRONIC sensors (PTS) to ensure that they function properly

Top up the windshield washer system reservoir


