Remove/install

Remove front license plate

Unscrew screws (2) and remove chrome molding (11)

Unclip outside air temperature sensor (B14) from chrome molding (11)

Remove radiator grille

Unscrew screws (3) and screws (arrows A)

Pull cover caps (5) toward front and unclip

Remove bolts (6)

 Bolt, front bumper step plate to n crossmember

Remove screws (7)

 Collar screw, front bumper to body

Unclip left and right fender liner from bumper (1)

 The fender liners are fastened in the wheel arch with three retaining clips and on the bumper (1) two retaining clips.

Slightly pull headlamp surrounds (4) toward front (arrow B), insert detaching tool (8) between corresponding fender (9) and corresponding headlamp surround (4) and unclip headlamp surrounds (4) from fenders (9)

Slight pull bumper (1) toward front

 Helper required.

Disconnect electrical connectors (10) on left and right side of vehicle

Model 906 with code L16 (Front fog lamp, Halogen)

 Helper required.

Disconnect front bumper PTS connector (X26/27)

Model 906 with code EZ8 (PARKTRONIC)

 Helper required.

Remove bumper (1)

 Helper required.

Disassemble bumper (1)

Only if bumper (1) will be replaced.

Incorporate bore with dimension a = 56 mm, as shown, in center of bumper (1)

Model 906 with code J65 (Outside temperature sensor)
Only if bumper (1) will be replaced.

Install in the reverse order

Check/correct headlamp adjustment


