Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid refrigerant.

Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been discharged.

Park vehicle over a repair pit or on a lifting platform

Discharge air conditioning system

Remove right side wall lining of the passenger compartment

Disconnect line connections (1) of the refrigerant lines in the front side wall

 Installation: Use new sealing rings. Coat sealing rings with refrigeration oil before installation.



Raise vehicle

With lifting platform.

Remove seal (4) at the longitudinal frame member and pull refrigerant hoses (2 and 3) downward out of the side wall

 After routing the refrigerant hoses, insert seal (4) into the longitudinal frame member again.

Disconnect line connections (9) of the refrigerant lines at the front left underfloor

 Installation: Use new sealing rings. Coat sealing rings with refrigeration oil before installation.



Detach securing clip (8) for propeller shaft



Detach propeller shaft from the transmission



Detach line holder (5) of the refrigerant lines in the area of the propeller shaft

Detach refrigerant lines from the underfloor

Install in the reverse order

 Only install side wall paneling after the air conditioning has been topped up and checked.

Evacuate the air conditioning system, refill it, and then check the system to make sure that it functions correctly and does not leak.
