1 | Switch ignition off | ||
2 | Drain windshield washing fluid from washer water reservoir (1) | ||
3 | Remove air intake | ||
4 | Unclip snap ring (2) and unhook protective pocket (3) | ||
5 | Open cable strap on water reservoir | ||
6 | Unclip water drain tube (4) from washer water reservoir (1) | ||
7 | Disconnect connectors from pumps | Installation: Observe correct connector assignment. Pump (M21) present only on vehicles with code F46 (headlamp cleaning system). | |
8.1 | Pull off washer water level sensor (B43) | Catch washer water. | |
Only model 638.2: The sensor is located on the right side of the washer water reservoir (1) below the black protective pocket (3). | |||
9 | Unscrew bolt (5) | ||
10.1 | Remove upper section of washing water reservoir | Code F46 only | |
Installation: Ensure that plug is properly positioned in splash wall. | |||
11 | Unscrew nuts with washers (6) | ||
12 | Remove pumps (M6, M21 and M23) | Installation: Observe installation position of pumps | |
13 | Remove washer water reservoir (1) | ||
14 | Install in opposite order | ||
| Testing | ||
15 | Perform function test on pumps (M6, M21 and M32) |
