1 Open emergency opening valve (1) on soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) (model 171.4) or Vario roof control hydraulic unit (A7/5) (model 172.4) two turns and close again.
Installation: Observe tightening torque.
Open emergency opening valve (1) max. 2 turns, otherwise the soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) (model 171.4) or Vario roof control hydraulic unit (A7/5) (model 172.4) can be damaged.

2 Unscrew bolts (2).
Installation: Observe tightening torque for bolts (2).
3 Remove connection plates (3) from soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) (model 171.4) or Vario roof control hydraulic unit (A7/5) (model 172.4)
4 Separate hydraulic lines (4) from soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) (model 171.4) or Vario roof control hydraulic unit (A7/5) (model 172.4).
Lay rag below soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) (model 171.4) or Vario roof control hydraulic unit (A7/5) (model 172.4), plug hydraulic lines (4) and connections on soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) (model 171.4) or Vario roof control hydraulic unit (A7/5) (model 172.4) with stop plug, otherwise the vehicle interior can be soiled.
Observe marking on hydraulic lines (4). The connections on the soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) (model 171.4) or Vario roof control hydraulic unit (A7/5) (model 172.4) and hydraulic lines (4) are number-coded.
5 Connect hydraulic lines (4) in opposite order.
