Remove/install

Open the stowage compartment (2).

Remove the rubber insert from the stowage compartment (2).

Remove bolts (5).

Remove the cover (3) on the center console (1).

Release and disconnect the electrical connections (15, 16, 17).

Open the cover of the center console armrest (1).

Remove the rear center console (1).

Remove the multimedia connection unit (A90/5) in the front stowage compartment.

Remove the soft top control switch (S84).

Unscrew the bolts (30).

Open the stowage compartment (18) on the instrument panel.

Remove screws (19).

Release and disconnect the electrical connection on the stowage compartment (18) and remove the stowage compartment (18).

Lift the center console (1).

 Press cross strut down on center console (1) below stowage compartment in instrument panel. The cover (4) falls off the COMAND control unit (A40/3) when the center console(1) is lifted.

 Installation: Clip molding (4) into COMAND control unit (A40/3).

 Helper required.

Release and disconnect electrical connector(7).

Release and disconnect the electrical connection for the touchpad on the center console (1).

Release and disconnect the electrical connections under the center console (1).

 The number of electrical connectors varies according to vehicle equipment.

Remove the center console (1) toward the rear from the vehicle.

 Helper required.

Install in the reverse order.
