Remove

Open the pop-out window at rear on hardtop.

Remove inside cover on dropside.

 The removal/installation of the inside cover on the dropside is described for a platform installed as standard without additional equipment or body variants.

Remove sealing rail (6).

 Bore out rivets on sealing rail (6) for this.

 Commercially available devices/tools
Hand drill

Deburr holes.

Remove drill chips from interior of dropside.

Wet and dry vacuum cleaner

Prime bores with primer stick.

Install

Clean bonding surface for sealing rail (6) on dropside.

Remove protective foil from sealing rail (6).

Install sealing rail (6) on dropside.

 In this connection, align sealing rail (6) with existing bores.

Apply primer using primer stick to rivet heads.


Apply thick coat of primer onto rivet heads.
Otherwise, if coat is not thick enough, corrosion may occur.

Rivet sealing rail (6) onto dropside.

Install inner cover on dropside.

Close the pop-out window at rear on hardtop.
