1 Mark help line (1) 3 mm above the crossed-through vehicle identification number.
2 Stamp vehicle identification number with the "Mercedes star" punch, beginning exactly above the crossed-through vehicle identification number.
The tip of the Mercedes star must be pointing up in the logo.
When stamping the vehicle identification number, counter-hold with a suitable metal block on the rear of the body console.
Stamp the Mercedes star at the end of the vehicle identification number.
