Remove/install

Connect diagnostic system and read out basic data for central operating unit (COU) control unit (A40) and buffer

Only when replacing the central operating unit (COU) (A40).



 Installation: Transfer temporarily stored basic data to the new central operating unit (COU) (A40) and perform initial startup.

Remove trim (1)

 Long wedge

Unscrew bolts (2)

Lift up central operating unit (ZBE) control unit (A40) far enough to gain access to the electrical connections (3)

Detach electrical connections (3) and remove central operating unit (ZBE) control unit (A40) upwards

Remove touchpad control unit

When replacing the central operating unit (ZBE) control unit (A40).

Remove left lower control panel control unit and right lower control panel control unit

When replacing the central operating unit (ZBE) control unit (A40).

Remove cover (4)

When replacing the central operating unit (ZBE) control unit (A40).

Unclip bezel (5) at catch hooks (arrows) and remove

When replacing the central operating unit (ZBE) control unit (A40).

 Installation: Check bezel (5) for damage.

Replace cover (5)
