Remove/install

Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery.

Remove bolts (1).

Unclip cable of engine hood catch from cover (2).

Unclip cover (2) at catch hooks and remove.

Remove nut (3) and position electric line outside working area.

 Nut, positive line to prefuse box

Remove nut (4).

 Nut, positive line to prefuse box

Remove retaining clamp (5) with electric line (6).


Do not kink or stretch the electric lines.
Otherwise damage will occur.

Remove screws (11).

Remove screw (7) from engine compartment fuse and relay module (F152/3).

Pull engine compartment prefuse box (F150/3) out of guides, then lift and swivel far enough until nuts (8) are accessible.


Do not kink or stretch the electric lines.
Otherwise damage will occur.

Cut through cable tie of electric line (12).

 Installation: Replace cable tie.

Remove nut (13).

 Nut, positive line to prefuse box

Remove electric line (12) from engine compartment prefuse box (F150/3) and position outside working area.

Cut through cable ties of electric lines (10).

 Installation: Replace cable ties.

Remove nuts (8).

 The number of electrical lines (10) varies depending on the vehicle equipment.

 Nut, positive line to prefuse box

Remove electric lines (10) from engine compartment prefuse box (F150/3) and remove engine compartment prefuse box (F150/3).

 Installation: Ensure that guides (9) are seated correctly.
The electric lines (10) are coded and they cannot be swapped.

 The number of electrical lines (10) varies depending on the vehicle equipment.

Install in the reverse order.
