 Danger

Risk of fire/risk of explosion due to short circuit and escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of (burn) injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte/mist, short circuit and arcing. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing battery electrolyte or absorption of lead through the skin or body orifices. Risk of death due to voltage U >= 30 V AC and U >= 60 V DC.

No fires, sparks, open flames, or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing, and glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Remove/install

Loosen negative terminal (1) with ground line (2) and remove from on-board electrical system battery (G1)

Remove positive terminal cover

Unscrew nuts (5) from positive terminal distributor (3) and place positive terminal distributor (3) to one side

Loosen positive terminal (4) and remove from on-board electrical system battery (G1)

 Nut, battery cable to negative terminal/positive terminal of on-board electrical system battery

Remove screw/bolt (6) and remove bracket (7)

 Bolt, battery bracket to body

Disconnect vent hose from on-board electrical system battery (G1)

Remove on-board electrical system battery (G1)

 Installation:
Pay attention to the ground line (2), positive terminal (4) with positive line and their detachable parts as well as the vent hose.
Otherwise they may be damaged.


Make sure that the vent hose is correctly seated.
Otherwise leaking battery vapor may damage the vehicle.

Install in the reverse order
