 Warning

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.

Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).

Remove bottom engine compartment paneling.

 Installation: Only install lower engine compartment lining after leak test.

Release electrical connector(1) and disconnect.

Remove electric line (2) from bracket (5).

Unclip electric line (2) from retaining clamps (3).


Do not crush or kink electric line (2) or subject it to tension.
This will result in damage to the electric line (2) and will impair its function.

Remove temperature sensor downstream of SCR catalytic converter (B16/27).

 Installation: Coat thread of temperature sensor downstream of SCR catalytic converter (B16/27) with heat-resistant lubricating paste.

Clean thread on exhaust pipe (4) and on temperature sensor downstream of SCR catalytic converter (B16/27) with a cloth and check for damage.

If damage is identified:



Replace temperature sensor downstream of SCR catalytic converter (B16/27) and exhaust pipe (4).

Remove temperature sensor downstream of SCR catalytic converter (B16/27) and seal exposed openings with suitable stop plugs.

 Record plug

Install in the reverse order.

Read out and delete fault memory.


