6.1	Remove rear muffler (4) from center muffler (1).	Model 253 with engine 274.9 except code 598 (Gasoline particulate filter (OPF) with sensor system) Model 253 with engine 276.8

7	Lower rear muffler (4) with major assembly mount and mounting plate and remove.

8	Remove combustion and corrosion residue at connecting points.
9	Check elastomer bearing (3) for damage.	If complaints are present,
		
		Replace elastomer bearing (3).
10	Check elastomer bearing (5) for damage.	Model 253 with engine 264, 274.9, 276.8
		If complaints are present,
		
		Replace elastomer bearing (5).
	Install
11	Position new clamp (2) at rear muffler (4).
12	Lift rear muffler (4) with major assembly mount and mounting plate.

18	Check installation position and for unobstructed movement of rear muffler (4).	If complaints are present,
		
		Correct installation position of rear muffler (4).
 Warning	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
19	Perform engine test run and check leak tightness of the exhaust system.
20	Disconnect vehicle from vehicle lift.		AR00.60-P-0100CW
