Remove/install

 Danger

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Raise vehicle.

Remove cover (2).

Remove left underfloor paneling (3).

Remove diagonal strut (4).

 Bolt, rear diagonal strut to spare wheel well/body

Secure rear muffler (1) against falling down.



Open clamp (5).

 Installation: Replace the clamp (5).

 Clamp, connecting point for front of exhaust system to rear of exhaust system

Disconnect rear muffler (1) from elastomer bearings (6) and remove.

 Installation: Wet elastomer bearings(6) with lubricant.

Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 l

Clean

Remove combustion and corrosion residue at connecting points.



Check

Check elastomer bearings (6) for wear and damage.

If complaints are present,



Replace the elastomer bearings(6).

Install in the reverse order.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check exhaust system in terms of leak tightness.
