 Warning

Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.

Remove

Disconnect ground line on battery.

 See information from body manufacturer.

Remove clamps (2, 4).

Release exhaust flex pipe (1) from exhaust pipe (3).

Pull exhaust flex pipe (1) out of exhaust pipe (5).

Remove sealing ring (8) from exhaust pipe (3).

Remove clamping disk (6) with sealing ring (7) from the exhaust flex pipe (1).

Check exhaust flex pipe (1) for damage.


Flexible exhaust pipe (1) must be properly stored and handled.
Otherwise damage can occur to lamellae on the outer side.

 Lamellae at outside of new flexible exhaust pipe (1) must in particular be checked.

If the lamellae on the outside are damaged,



Replace flexible exhaust pipe (1).



Install

Install new sealing ring (8) on exhaust pipe (3).

Push new clamping disk (6) with new sealing ring (7) onto the exhaust flex pipe (1).

 Observe installation sequence.

Push exhaust flex pipe (1) all the way into the exhaust pipe (5).

Place exhaust flex pipe (1) on exhaust pipe (3) while pulling the exhaust flex pipe (1) out of exhaust pipe (5) and lay on the new clamps (2, 4).

 Markings (A) at flexible exhaust pipe (1) and exhaust pipe (3) must match. The clamp (2) has a folded edge; this must point in the direction of the engine. Opening of clamp (2) must be positioned via markings (A).

Align exhaust flex pipe (1) and tighten clamps (2, 4).

Connect ground line to battery.

Start engine and check exhaust system for leak tightness.

 See information from body manufacturer.

Switch off engine.
