No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Remove

1

Remove fuel tank(1).

Remove locking ring(2).

 Claw-type wrench

Remove fuel pump with fill level sensor (3).

 Collect exuding fuel with an absorbent rag.

Remove sealing ring (4).

 Dispose of sealing ring (4).



Clean

Clean seating of the sealing ring (4) with a clean, lint-free rag.



Install

Install new sealing ring (4).

Align fuel pump with fill level sensor (3) with the molding (arrow A) to the notch (arrow B) for the fuel tank (1).

Install fuel pump with fill level sensor (3) in the fuel tank (1).

Install sealing ring (2).

 To do this, turn sealing ring (2) until the notch (arrow C) between the notches (arrows D) is on the fuel tank (1).

Install fuel tank (1).

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Check fuel system with the engine running for proper operation and leak tightness.

 Visual inspection only.
