Remove/install inner tie rod with axial joint

Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Raise vehicle with vehicle lift

Remove the front wheels



Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary

Remove tie rod

Remove bellows

Remove inner track rod with axial joint (12)

 Do not use force (hammer blows, severe leverage effect) as the inner tie rod with axial joint (12) and rack-and-pinion steering are sensitive to the effects of side force. The consequence would be distortion and thus unserviceability of the inner tie rod with axial joint (12) and the rack-and-pinion steering.

 To loosen the inner tie rod with axial joint (12), counterhold the rack (arrow) using open end wrench (012).


