Danger | Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off during lifting | Only lift vehicle at the lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
Warning | Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
Warning | Risk of injury to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure.Risk of poisoning from swallowing hydraulic fluid. | Depressurize hydraulic system completely before starting any work on it. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.
Warning | Risk of injury from being trapped in the swivel range of steered axles | Ensure that no persons or objects are in the swivel range of all steered axles when turning the steering wheel. Do not stand in the swivel range of the additional steering axle when the engine is running.

Filling | |||
1 | Open hood. | ||
2 | Pour steering gear oil into oil container (1) up to "max." Fill up to marking on dipstick for steering oil level (2). | Steering gear oil
Bleeding | |||
3 | Secure vehicle to prevent it moving away.
4 | Lift vehicle at front axle until wheels can turn freely and jack up vehicle.
5 | Start engine and run in idle speed until the oil reservoir (1) no longer has any air bubbles in it. | Note the steering gear oil level in the oil reservoir (1) and top up the steering gear oil, if necessary. The steering gear oil level in the oil reservoir (1) must not drop below the "min." mark, otherwise air will be drawn in.

6 | Turn steering wheel enough times to left and right to mechanical end stop until air bubbles no longer rise in the oil container (1). | Note the steering gear oil level in the oil reservoir (1) and top up the steering gear oil, if necessary. The steering gear oil level in the oil reservoir (1) must not drop below the "min." mark, otherwise air will be drawn in.
Steering gear oil | |||
7 | Move front wheels to straight-ahead position.
8 | Switch off engine. | After the engine is switched off, the steering gear oil level in the oil reservoir (1) may rise by max. 2 cm. If the steering gear oil level in the oil reservoir (1) rises by more than 2 cm, this means air is still present in the system and the bleeding process must be repeated.
9 | Raise vehicle at front axle, remove jack stands and lower vehicle back onto ground.
10 | Check steering gear oil level in oil container (1) and correct if necessary. | Steering gear oil
11 | Seal oil container (1).
12 | Close hood. |
