Remove/install

Turn steering wheel (1) into center position

 The front wheels must be in the straight-ahead position.

Remove airbag from steering wheel (1)

Disconnect electrical connection (2)

Unscrew center bolt (3)



 Have someone assist you in counterholding the steering wheel (1).

 Bolt, steering wheel to steering shaft

Remove steering wheel (1) from steering shaft

 Installation: Assign marking on serrations in steering wheel (1) to marking on steering shaft.

Install in the reverse order



Check

Perform function test of horns, turn signal cancellation and the buttons on the steering wheel (1)

Perform function test of vibration motor on steering wheel using diagnostic system

Model 447, 448
with code JW5 (Lane keeping assist)
When replacing the steering wheel (1).


