Electronic ignition/starter switch (EZS) removal and installation

"Disconnect/connect ground line on battery" removed

 

Remove/install

Completely move steering column downward or press completely downward

Remove cover below instrument panel

Remove rosette (36a) from lower section of instrument panel using claw-type wrench (020)

 Claw-type wrench for rosette on ignition/start switch.

Remove bolt (1)

 Carefully pull panel downwards so that the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) can be removed more easily.

Remove EIS [EZS] control unit (N73)

Remove ignition switch cable (36h)

Vehicles with automatic transmission.

 Press together retaining clips (arrows) and pull the ignition switch cable (36h) forward out of the retaining lugs.

Disconnect electrical connectors

 Four connectors.

Install in the reverse order
