1 - Workbench accessories

D = Pressure reducing valve.

FN1= Pressure regulating valve (fine adjustment) with discharge to the atmosphere.

V = Workbench supply pressure gage.

==1=3=4=Pressure gages with 0.1 bar scale divisions, 16 bar capacity.

1L = 1 liter air tank.

20L = 20 liters air tank.

C=V=3=4 = Valves (taps).

(1)=(3)=(4) = Fast couplings available on the workbench.

1

Check the regulator for outside damages.

2

Connect the regulator to the test bench

Fast connection 1 (test bench) at port 1

Fast connection 3 (test bench) at port 21

Plug the port 22 with a plug.

3

Prepare for test

Through the valve D apply 10 bar in the workbench supply circuit. Confirm the pressure on gage V.

All workbench valves are to be closed.

Partially open the valve 3 of the test bench and actuate and deactivate the FN1 valve a few times for a good seating of the components.

4

Test the tightness

Close the valve 3 of the test bench.

Apply 7 bar pressure in port 1 through the FN1 valve. Confirm the reading on the gage 1.

Apply neutral soap foam and check the tightness at port 3, around the regulator top cover and at the outlet of the tire inflation port 1-2.

De-pressurize the port 1 through the FN1 valve.

Observe on gage 3 that the pressure keeps at 7 bar.

Disconnect the connection from port 1.

Apply neutral soap foam on port 1; 3; 1-2 and around the top cover.

Note: In the case of leakages it is necessary to disassemble and repair the regulator.

5

Test the operation - Adjust

Reconnect the test bench fast coupling 1 on port 1 of the pressure regulator.

Actuate the FN1 valve, check the switching pressure to the atmosphere by the port 3. Adjust the opening pressure (disconnection) to 8.1 bar through the adjusting screw and tighten the nut to the specified torque.

De-pressurize the system through the valve 3 and observe at the same time the drop of pressure on gage 3 and the moment that air stops coming out the port 3 of the pressure regulator that has to correspond between 6.9 to 7.7 bar (connection pressure).

Repeat the two previous procedures between 5 and 6 times to confirm correctly the disconnection and connection values of the pressure regulator.

6

Test the operation through an outside air source

Disconnect the port 1 and plug it with a plug, as well as the port 22 if open.

Connect the workbench fast coupling 1 to the port 1-2 of the regulator so that the tire inflating valve is activated 1.5 mm (intermediate position).

Through the FN1 apply pressure to port 1-2. The regulator will have to work normally, regulating the pressure automatically.

Check the pressures on gage 3 of the test bench.

7

Test the tire inflating safety valve

Plug the port 22 with a plug.

Connect the fast coupling 1 of the test bench to the port 1 and the fast coupling 3 to the port 21.

Connect the workbench fast coupling 4 to the port 1-2 so that the tire inflating valve remains open for pressure outlet.

Through the pressure reduction valve D increase the test bench supply pressure on gage V to 12 bar.

Through the FN1 increase the pressure in the circuit 1 and check the safety valve opening pressure on the test bench gage 4. The safety valve will have to open between 9 and 13 bar.

8

Remove the valve from the test stand

De-pressurize the regulator circuits and disconnect the quick couplings from test stand.

Protect the regulator connections ports with appropriate plastic plugs.
