Detach plug of brake wear indicator

 On vehicles with code (J53) brake lining wear indicator only

Remove shields (2)



Detach retracting springs (7, 8)

 Installation: Attach retracting springs (7, 8) with cranked section pointing toward inside.

Remove brake shoe pin (6)

 Installation: Install brake shoe pins (6).

Remove brake shoes (3)

Remove O-rings (4) from both brake shoes (3)

 Installation: Install new O-rings (4) and grease bushings.
