1 | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself | ||
2 | Release parking brake | ||
Danger! | Risk of injury with trapped or crushed fingers when working on springs or spring-loaded components | Use only approved tensioning devices; additionally shield off hazardous area if necessary. | |
3 | Move threaded rod of spring reservoir cylinder to release position | Rear axle only. | |
4 | Apply parking brake | To depressurize the spring reservoir cylinder on the rear axle. | |
5 | Detach compressed-air line (1) from wheel brake cylinder (2) and hang to one side | ||
6 | Detach clevis (3) from brake lever (4) | The clevis (3) is secured to the brake lever (4) with the clevis pin and cotter pin (5). Installation: - Check piston rod clevis and clevis pin and replace if there is visible wear. - Replace cotter pin. | |

7 | Detach wheel brake cylinder (2) from bracket (6) | Installation: Lightly oil threads of nuts. Do not use molybdenum disulfide lubricants. | |
8 | Install in the reverse order |
