Note direction of rotation of brake adjuster (1). Right-hand thread for left side of vehicle, left-hand thread for right side of vehicle. Malfunction or damage can occur otherwise.

Adjust brake adjuster (1) on ring gear until the brake shoes reach a diameter of 227 mm.
Carefully turn the ring gear and use a suitable tool. Malfunction or damage can occur otherwise.
Always adjust brake adjuster (1) equally on both sides of vehicle.

Position the brake drum tentatively and then adjust it to the right position if necessary.
