Remove/install

Remove front wheels.

Disconnect electrical connector (1).

 Depending on the model and version, the electrical connector (1) is only present on the left side of the vehicle.

Remove safety clips (2).

Remove safety pins (3) and take out retaining springs (4).

 The retaining springs (4) may jump out when removing the safety pins (3).

Remove cover cap of setting screw (7).

 Installation:
The cover cap of the setting screw (7) must be installed up to end stop.
Otherwise, the brake caliper may suffer from corrosion damage.

 Installation: Check cover cap of setting screw (7) for wear and damage; replace if necessary.

Turn back piston using setting screw (7).

 Direction of rotation of adjustment screw (7) is counterclockwise on right brake caliper and clockwise on left brake caliper.

 Installation: Insert a feeler gauge between brakepad (6) and brake caliper; turn setting screw (7) until the feeler gauge can be pulled out and pushed in with little force applied to it.

Remove brakepads (5, 6).

 Installation: Only replace brake pads (5, 6) in complete sets per axle.



Clean

Clean pad recess using brake caliper brush.

Check

Check brakepads (5, 6) and brake disks for wear.



Check brake caliper and detachable parts for wear and damage.

If problems occur,



repair brake caliper.

Install in the reverse order.
