Remove front wheels



Remove cover plate on brake caliper

 Only on brake caliper with wear indicator.

Detach electrical lines for wear indicator (1)

 Depending on the model and version, the wear indicator electrical line (1) may only be available on the left side of the vehicle.

Remove securing pins (2) and take out cross spring (3)

Pull out brake pads (4).

 Installation: Only replace brake pads (4) in complete sets per axle.
Grease backplate of brake pad (4) and contact surface on brake caliper.



Push back piston.



Checking

Clean brake parts and check for wear and damage

 Renew worn or damaged parts, if necessary: 

Disassemble/assemble brake caliper on front axle

Check brake pads and brake disks for signs of wear

Install in the reverse order

Build up brake pressure

 Operate brake pedal several times.

Check brake fluid level, correct if necessary
