Install: Before installing the wear indicator (A), clean its housing correctly. | |||
5 | Remove the metallic cover (10b) from the fixed bearing | To remove the metallic cover (10b), it must be carefully drilled close to the center to avoid damaging the housing corners. Use a thin chisel to remove it together with an appropriate screwdriver acting as a lever. During the drilling, the cover may be displaced inwards by approximately 10 mm. | |
Install: Clean the housing correctly and install the new cover (10b). | |||
6 | Remove bolt (40) | Install: Use a new bolt and apply the specified tightening. | |

7.1 | Loosen bolt (39). The metallic cover (68a) will be removed when the bolt gets loose | In calipers SN7000 equipped with type ”2” rubber bushing, part (6a) in the floating bearing: | |
These calipers are applied only on the front of vehicles O500. | |||
Install: Use a new bolt (39) and apply the specified tightening. | |||

8 | Remove the metallic cover using the mandrel set | In calipers of series SN7000 equipped with “DU” type bushing, part (6b) on the floating bearing. | |

10 | Remove the attachment bolt (39) | Before removing the attachment bolt (39) make sure the caliper will not move or fall, thus avoiding damages and accidents. | |
Install: Use a new bolt (39) and apply the specified tightening. | |||

10 | Remove the caliper from the support | Hold the caliper by the support using only the external parts. Never hold or leave your fingers between the caliper and the support. Do not suspend the caliper using the pad clamps. | |
The opening of the inside of the brake caliper, on the part of the adjustment mechanism, is not allowed. | |||
The components of the fixed and floating bearings, together with the other components, can be normally either repaired or replaced; therefore, several specific repair kits are supplied with the appropriate lubricant tubes. Use original parts. | |||
The calipers must be repaired always in pairs. | |||
11 | Install: Assemble the caliper after the appropriate repairs using the same recommendations applied in the disassembly. |
