Correct front articulation angle (1)
Install shop-made spacers for articulation angle correction at the rear engine crossmember (34) or at the rear engine mount.
A 1 mm thick spacer changes the inclination angle by approx. 0.17°.
When using spacers with a thickness of > 2 mm, screw length has to be increased by 5 mm.
If a spacer with a thickness of > 5 mm is required, the front and rear engine mounts must be checked for settling effects or signs of wear and replaced if necessary.
1 | Support transmission using major assembly mount and support plate. |
2 | Remove rear engine cross member (34). |
Never use impact wrenches/drivers or compressed air tools for screwing in or unscrewing the bolts! |
3 | Depending on the correction, insert shop-made spacers between rear engine crossmember (34) and frame floor assembly or between rear engine mount and rear engine crossmember (34). |
The dimensions for the spacers must be taken at the corresponding part, see the pictures below. |
4 | Install rear engine crossmember (34) . |
5 | Remove major assembly support and support plate. |

Example:
If the check values are larger than +0.30°, the shop-made spacers (a) must be installed between rear engine crossmember (34) and frame floor assembly.
Material: steel or aluminum.

Example:
If the check values are smaller than -0.30°, the shop-made spacers (b) must be installed between rear engine mount and rear engine crossmember (34).
Material: steel or aluminum.
