Remove engine compartment lining from center and front.

Check center position of steering gear.

 The steering wheel must be in the center position as soon as the steering gear is in the center position.

In the event of a problem,



Check basic setting of steering wheel.

Adjust

Insert holding device (055) in front of sun visor and fix steering wheel in place.


Protect the emblem in the steering wheel against damage.
Otherwise the  holding device (055) may make an indent on the emblem.

Loosen counternut (2) of tie rod (1).


Counterhold the tie rod (1).
The tie rod (1) will otherwise be damaged.

Adjust toe by turning the inner tie rod.

 Make sure that the boots are not twisted.

Tighten counternut (2).

Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths

 Jam nut, tie rod to inner tie rod

Measure
