Use assembly tool to remove wheel balance weights with retaining clamp (43a).

For balance weights with retaining clamp (43a).

Remove bonded wheel balance weights (43b, 43c) using removal tool.

With bonded wheel balance weights (43b, 43c).


Do not use hard, pointed or sharp-edged tools.
Otherwise, the surfaces of the disk wheels will be damaged.

Clean

Clean wheel and tire assemblies.


Remove soiling from wheel and tire assembly before balancing.
Otherwise, the measurement result will be incorrect.

Perform stationary balancing of wheel-and-tire assemblies

Fasten wheel-and-tire assemblies to stationary balancing machine and balance them.



Perform dynamic balancing of wheel and tire assemblies

Deactivate the ESP® control unit (ESP®).

Balance the wheel and tire assemblies using the dynamic balancing machine on the vehicle.


Drive the wheel and tire assemblies on the drive axle using vehicle engine only.
Otherwise, the differential will be damaged.

 Observe manufacturer's operating instructions.
Perform stationary balancing of the wheel-and-tire assemblies first.
The hood, vehicle doors, trunk lid or the liftgate must be closed.

Activate the ESP®.

 The ESP® warning lamp must go out.
