4 | Remove cover (5) | Mark installation position of cover (5). | |
5 | Remove shift piston (8) | Impact extractor | |

6 | Check cylinder liner (10) for damage | If there are score marks on the barrel of the shift piston (8) the cylinder liner must be replaced. | |
| Install | ||
7 | Install new sealing ring (7) on shift piston (8) | ||
8 | Coat shift piston (8) on sealing surface and contact surface of adjusting disk (9) with synthetic grease and mount the previous adjusting disk (9) on the shift piston (8) | Synthetic grease causes the adjusting disk (9) to adhere to contact surface on shift piston (8). | |

9 | Install shift piston (8) with previous adjusting disk (9) | Ensure that the adjusting disk (9) does not slip. | |
10 | Attach cover (5) with new seal (6) | Install new seal (6) with raised bead towards the cover (5). | |
